some deep poems

Perched in a convenient place,
It is used each morning and evening –
Sometimes in vain,
Often out of necessity.

It stares and it glares
While he sucks and tucks
And plucks those pesky nose hairs –
Never telling him what he doesn’t already know.

Never will it file a claim or seek revenge,
For it provides far better penance:
To remain honest and to remain the same
In the eyes of a changed man lying about
What really happened to his friend’s good name.

~A Murderer's Mirror - inspired by American Psycho
